Tips on Photography
There are so many tips on photo that you can find on the Internet.
My tips will further your knowledge and skills in both of these production methods, at the same time as offering some basic, yet important tips, which will make you think before pressing that shutter button.
At the same time as publishing these tips on the Camera Guru website, I will also publish them on the Camera Guru blog.
Beginners Photography Tips -
| Use the camera you have -
With countless cameras and photo equipment on today's market, you could be forgiven for thinking too much about what to buy before starting out on your photography adventure.
My first tip here is to work with the camera you already have, or smartphone for that matter. You should place a greater emphasis on being creative and adventurous with your photos.
It is always good to remember that a camera is a tool, a means to an end, and the final photo is only as good and the camera operator. Having gained some practice, and experience, you could start to look into purchasing another camera.
| Work on composing your photo -
Engage with the photo you want to take. look all around the viewfinder, not just through it. Get to know the basic settings for taking a photo, then apply them to your shot.
Look beyond your main subject, and eliminate background distractions, even if this means changing your shooting position. Balance your composition from front to back and side to side, and don't cut off any important subject areas.
It is very good practice to think about the final photo you want to achieve, as this will keep your composition thoughts on track.

| Learn your camera settings -
Knowing the settings on your camera, and how to change them, especially the 'exposure triangle'. Practice with different settings, and take lots of photos, as this will enable you to grasp hold of what you, and your camera can do.
Above all, be adventurous, try anything out and remember that no idea is a bad idea, it just may not work for you.
| Carry a tripod with you -
A tripod, heavy, bulky and awkward to carry, yet, this piece of equipment could give you the best photo you have ever taken. Without it your shot is blurred, and you lose that great shot.
Having a tripod will add another dimension to your photography. It will support your camera, but also support your ideas.
| Move your position -
Take your first shot from your original idea, then move about. Don't stick to standing up and shooting at eye level.
Changing your position will give you another viewpoint, and also a new perspective. You will be surprised as to what can be gained by lying down, kneeling or just moving your camera from side to side.
| Clean your camera lens -
A dirty lens can destroy the best of photos. Always keep your lens clean with a very soft cloth, but do not use an abrasive cloth. Buy a 'blower-brush' to clear any dust or dirt off your lens first, prior to wiping with your lens cloth.
| Shoot lots and experiment -
Get that all important shot first, then move into experimentation mode. Play with your subject in terms of viewpoint, time and settings.
The more you experiment, and the more photos you take, the better, and more exciting your photos will be. Do not be afraid to fail, and always learn from any mistakes you make, and you will fail and make mistakes.

| Photography is great fun -
I will leave these tips with a quote I love, and I think is so appropriate for photographers, both beginners and advanced.
“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun” - Mary Lou Cook -
